About this deal
Named after the Goddess of the Hunt, The Artemis has an impressive 30 round capacity, but it does not come with magazines. How will this affect loading and will it make it a no-go for serious game-play?
NERF Rival Hades XVIII 6000 Review: Is It Worth the Hype? NERF Rival Hades XVIII 6000 Review: Is It Worth the Hype?
One of the most important improvements to the Rival Hades is the increased magazine capacity. Unlike the Artemis, which has a 30-round magazine, the Rival Hades brings it up to 60 rounds. This is not too bad, but once in awhile, I found myself dry-fire and then have two rounds pop out a prime or two later. With that in mind, it’s good to know that the NERF Rival Hades will always give you one of the best shooting experiences. Igniting and shooting with the Rival Hades is an exhilarating experience. Priming The speed and accuracy with which the Rival rounds pop out is going to be quite a revelation if this is your first step up from NERF’s dart-firing blasters. From 10 feet away you can group your shots within inches rather than feet, and the rounds ping around the place so there’s the added possibility of getting hit by a ricochet.
NERF Rival Artemis XVII-3000 - Blaster-Time NERF Rival Artemis XVII-3000 - Blaster-Time
However, the Rival Hades is a huge Nerf blaster; it may even be bigger than any other blaster you know. Therefore, there may be better options for smaller kids. Slam Fire As a bonus, if you still have rounds in the Ferris wheel mechanism, you can still shoot while loading – three extra rounds to defend yourself is great! This was only when I was going nuts with slam fire, which is most jams and malfunctions occur but I did not get any actual jams, just this, which is not too bad when you consider the amount of grief I was giving it! Power and Accuracy As with all Rival models, the Artemis is available in a choice of red or blue, with the intention being that your weapon’s colour denotes which side you’re on. It’s quite a nice idea as long as you’re always on the same side – otherwise you’ll need to buy one in each colour, eh? That’s because its accuracy makes up for its speed on the range, hitting the farthest targets with precision.
